A House is a Delightful Experience
"The house is a path, both literally and figuratively". Siza has always had the fixation of "making games of stairs, creating ambiguity about what's going up and what's going down." The house has a sense of mystery and journey achieved through the stair cases and the angled rooms etc. This is apparent with every movement one takes through the space, 'you never know what is around the corner'. The indoor stairs are mirrored by the outdoor stairs adhering to the sense of mystery and journey. Keeping with the theme of mystery, the stairs are never completely revealed from one space. "Some can be seen from afar when others seem to end abruptly."
