A House is a Container of Human Activities
The house was designed to accommodate basic holiday living requirements; i.e. sleeping, eating, abluting and leisure spaces. The design is centered around a core, positioned on the garden boundary side of the site. The open scale living is beneficial in the warmer months, taking full advantage of the Queensland weather and the water views. During the winter months, the living space is insulated, providing an enclosed space for optimum use. The use of the large glass openings still allows heat and natural light in when closed during the colder months.
A House is a Delightful Experience
The design of this house is predominantly for relaxing and to absorb the natural surroundings. The two storey Eco house is nestled into the slope of the site creating sanctuary. The use of timber paneling and glass openings allows the space to be free and open. This gives the sense that you are amongst the trees and amid the sites natural surrounds.
